Mediterranean Yacht Charter
Luxury Yacht Charter Across Europe’s Finest Cruising Grounds
A Mediterranean yacht charter lets you move from the Riviera to the Aegean in a single season, with six countries, six coastlines, and six ways to spend a week at anchor. France brings glamour and events, Italy its coasts and kitchens, Greece its islands, Spain its beach clubs and calas, Croatia calm Adriatic cruising and Turkey a long coastline with strong value.
Most guests choose a country first and a yacht second, and that is where a broker earns their place: the right coast for your dates, a yacht based nearby and a crew who knows the harbors. Our MYBA brokers plan each charter around the way you want to travel, from a single base to a one-way route across borders. This is one of our destinations worldwide.
Six Coastlines, One Sea, and a Long Season
No other sea offers so many different holidays within a day or two of each other. In a single season, a yacht can anchor off a Riviera beach club in June, cruise the Greek islands in July, and spend September in the calm Adriatic, with the same crew and service. That’s why the Mediterranean remains the first choice for most charter guests, from first-timers to experienced owners.
✔ Exceptional diversity of destinations and cultures
✔ Short cruising distances and sheltered waters
✔ Iconic ports, islands and historic coastlines
✔ World-class marinas and superyacht facilities
✔ Outstanding cuisine, lifestyle and cultural heritage
✔ Long charter season with reliable conditions
A luxury yacht charter in the Mediterranean suits both first-time charter guests and seasoned yacht travelers.
Choosing Your Coast
Each country offers a different kind of week, and the right choice depends on what you want to do, not just where you want to be. Here is how the six coasts compare, with a link to each country for the full picture.
France
Glamour, superyachts, and events on the French Riviera, and a wilder side in Corsica, where granite cliffs and marine reserves replace the quays. Read our full guide to yacht charters in France.
Italy
Historic coasts, cuisine, and cruising variety, from the Amalfi Coast to Sardinia and Sicily. Discover Italy’s coastline.
Greece
Island cruising, ancient culture, and clear water, with more itineraries than any other country on this page. See our Greece yacht charter page.
Spain
Balearic island life and calas, with beach clubs for lunch, quiet bays for the afternoon, and the mainland coast near Barcelona. Explore Spain yacht charters.
Croatia
A coastline of islands and historic ports, sheltered by the Adriatic and well-suited to calm, relaxed cruising. Explore Croatia’s islands.
Turkey
A long coastline with cultural depth and strong value, popular for gulet cruising and crossings to the Greek islands.
Routes From West to East
The Mediterranean is easiest to read as three cruising areas: west, central, and east. Below are routes that show how each area works, from the Riviera and Corsica to the Amalfi Coast and the Greek and Turkish islands. Each links to a full itinerary, and you can reshape all of them around your yacht and dates.
Western: Best Mediterranean Itineraries (7–10 Days), Corsica to Sardinia (7 days), Mallorca (7 days), Calvi to Cinque Terre
Central: Amalfi Coast (7 days), Naples to Palermo, Split to Dubrovnik (14 days)
Eastern: Bodrum to the Dodecanese (9 days)

A Week Aboard: Glamour, Culture or Islands
What a week aboard looks like depends far more on the coast than on the yacht. A week in France is built around the harbour and the event calendar, a week in Italy around the table and the coastline, and a week in Greece around the islands and the water. This is how the three differ in practice.
✔ Cruising between iconic destinations in a single week
✔ Combining culture, cuisine and natural beauty
✔ Anchoring in secluded bays and world-famous harbors
✔ Enjoying Michelin-starred dining ashore and onboard
✔ Accessing global lifestyle hubs and quiet island escapes
✔ Tailoring itineraries from relaxed to vibrant
The Mediterranean offers something for every charter style — from glamorous to authentic.
YBH Charter Expert Insight – “The mistake we see most often is trying to see too much. A week fits one country comfortably and a second at most; guests who choose one coast and a short crossing at the end come home with more memories than those who tried three. We start with the type of week you want, and the country follows.” – Giulia Di Leo, CEO at YBH
Seasons and Winds: When the Mediterranean Works Best
The Mediterranean season is long, and each stretch of it has its own character. May and June bring fresh weather and fewer crowds; July and August are the peak, with the warmest sea and the busiest harbors; and September keeps the water warm and the pace calmer. April and October extend the season mainly in the Balearics and the south.
Winds matter as much as dates: the Meltemi brings steady breezes to the Aegean in summer, while the Mistral can affect routes off France and Italy. Both shape how we plan a route.
✔ May – June: Ideal weather and fewer crowds
✔ July – August: Peak summer season and vibrant atmosphere
✔ September: Warm seas and relaxed cruising
The Mediterranean charter season runs from spring through early autumn, with excellent conditions across regions.
Planning Your Mediterranean Voyage
The Mediterranean’s cruising season spans spring through autumn, but optimal conditions vary depending on your style and objectives. The classic season runs from May to September, when days are warm, seas are calm, and coastal life thrives from seaside cafés to open‑air markets.
Peak Luxury Season (June–August): Long, sunny days, warm waters, and light winds make this the definitive high season—ideal if you want vibrant social scenes, world‑class events, and guaranteed calm conditions at anchor.
Shoulder Season (May & September): For discerning travelers seeking quiet sophistication, these months offer equally pleasant weather, fewer crowds, greater yacht availability, and a more intimate cruising experience.
Extended Exploration (April & October): Outside the classic window, some Mediterranean areas—especially the Balearics and southern destinations—still offer warm weather and memorable days on the water, with softer light and richer local culture.
Seasonality also shapes winds, currents, and sunsets—all essential for planning a bespoke charter that matches your priorities.
What a Mediterranean Week Costs
Charter rates vary with the size of the yacht, the country and the season, and the same yacht can cost noticeably more in August than in June. As a guide, a smaller, smaller-crewed yacht starts at around $50,000 per week, and the largest exceed $1,000,000, before VAT and the APA. Our Superyacht Charter Cost Guide explains how we arrive at these figures.
Smaller yachts (up to ~100ft / 30m): from $50,000 per week for newer builds, from $30,000 for older models
Mid-range yachts (100–150ft / 30–45m): $150,000–$300,000 per week for newer builds, $100,000–$200,000 for older models
Larger yachts and superyachts (150ft+ / 45m+): $300,000 and up, reaching $1,000,000+ per week for the largest vessels
Peak season (July–August) typically raises rates by 20–50% over shoulder-season pricing. Rates are exclusive of APA (35–40% of the charter fee), crew gratuities (10–15%), and applicable taxes, which vary by country — see our guide to VAT on yacht charters for country-specific detail.
