Few charters change register as often as a week in Ibiza does — lunch at a beach club with music loud enough to feel from the water, then an hour later, an anchorage so still the only sound is the swim ladder going down. That contrast, more than any single stop, is what a week here actually feels like:

Ibiza’s fleet splits cleanly along the same line as the island itself: motor yachts for guests who want to move fast between beach clubs and arrive in style, and catamarans for those who’d rather anchor once and let the day come to them. Some of what’s currently available:

Superyachts define Ibiza’s peak season more than almost anywhere else in the Balearics — July and August turn the waters off Ibiza Town into one of the Mediterranean’s great superyacht gatherings, and berths for the largest vessels are booked out months ahead. Coral Ocean, Moka, Benita Blue and Nephenta are among those currently available at this scale.

Crewed catamarans suit guests who’d rather anchor once and let the day happen around them — genuine deck space, a shallower draft for tucking into calas larger yachts can’t reach, and the stability that makes a full day at anchor comfortable for groups of any age. Dawn, Era, Viva La Vida, Sasta, Calma and Ygo represent this style well.

Sailing yachts offer Ibiza at its most understated — for guests who’d rather experience the island’s coastline under canvas than compete with the beach-club crowd, at a pace that changes the week’s character. Onyx and Thea cater to this quieter side of chartering here.

Guests planning their first Balearic charter often assume they can weave all four islands into a single week — it’s one of the most common requests we get, and it’s worth understanding why the answer usually isn’t that simple. The distances involved are real: Ibiza to Mallorca alone is roughly 80 nautical miles, similar to the crossing between Mallorca and Menorca. That’s why the two strongest weekly itineraries in the Balearics stay within one pair — Ibiza with Formentera, or Mallorca with Menorca — rather than attempting all four.

None of this rules out combining them. It simply means doing so properly needs either 10 to 14 days to cover the distances without rushing, or a one-way itinerary that starts on one pair of islands and ends on the other — which comes with its own cost, since repositioning the yacht back to its home base afterward is factored into the charter fee. We’re always happy to plan a full Balearic route; we just make sure guests know what it requires before committing.

Marina Ibiza, directly across from the UNESCO-listed old town of Dalt Vila, is the island’s most exclusive berth — with over 400 slips and capacity for superyachts up to 110 meters. Marina Botafoch, just across the harbor, trades some of that exclusivity for a livelier scene of restaurants and boutiques, with 428 berths up to 30 meters. Guests wanting more distance from the main port often use Santa Eulalia, the island’s largest marina, or Sant Antoni on the sunset coast.

Berth availability tightens considerably in July and August — Botafoch alone takes reservations from January and is routinely on a waiting list by spring, and the same applies across most of the island’s marinas during peak weeks. For guests chartering a superyacht specifically, confirming berthing well in advance isn’t a formality here; it’s often the factor that determines whether a preferred week is possible at all.

Ibiza Airport (IBZ) handles significant seasonal traffic, including private and charter flights, with the main marinas a short transfer away. For guests arriving by private jet, we coordinate ground transfers directly to the yacht, timed to avoid the airport’s busiest arrival windows in peak season.
