To do this, we have divided the main world tourist resorts into 5 macro areas. Let’s start:

Mediterranean Sea – Covid-19 Latest Update for Charters

As we all know, the Mediterranean Sea basin includes a large number of nations and, consequently, several marinas. We can make the first skimming between countries belonging to the European Union and that outside, such as Turkey. The latter is currently open to foreign tourists arriving by air as well as marinas and restaurants. However, we recommend you request more detailed information from your charter company before traveling to the country.

In Spain, France, and Italy the situation is similar. In each destination, navigation is allowed and ports are open although there are restrictions on catering. Often only food delivery is allowed. Arrival by air is allowed from Schengen and EU countries but upon arrival, a negative Covid test is required or to be carried out on site.

Still a different situation currently in Greece and Croatia where there are currently no restrictions for pleasure sailing and catering. On the other hand, there are anti – Covid checks at airports and restrictions on flights from abroad, in particular for those outside the EU.

Caribbean Sea – Covid-19 Latest Update for Charters

The situation in the Caribbean is very heterogeneous. In general, however, all the islands require a quarantine period once tourists arrive at their destination. This period can last until the result of the swab carried out at the country entrance or even beyond, up to a maximum of 14 days.

The Bahamas, for example, are open to tourism but with restrictions on travel from island to island and still require a quarantine lasting 5 days from arrival, regardless of the test outcome.

The closure measures to tourism not only vary from state to state but also from island to island. For this reason, we advise you to contact your charter company to verify that your itinerary stages are compatible with the regulations in force at the moment.

Indian Ocean – Covid-19 Latest Update for Charters

Our main destinations located in the Indian Ocean are Thailand, the Seychelles islands, and the Maldives islands. Being very distant and very different territories, they have adopted different plans for the containment of the pandemic with very different results.

Wanting to start with the positive notes, Maldives has recently been reopened to both land and sea tourism. This means that it is possible to sail freely and arrive in the country by air without having to comply with any quarantine.

The situation is not so positive in Thailand where borders (and therefore airports and marinas) are closed due to pandemics. It is expected to reopen in the summer but currently, nothing is certain.

The middle way, in this case, is instead the Seychelles archipelago which guarantees the possibility of entry into the country but only after a 14-day quarantine before being allowed to move freely.

Pacific Ocean – Covid-19 Latest Update for Charters

Even at these latitudes, the situation is not stable and indeed is in the making. Currently, Australia and New Zealand are closed to foreign citizens transit and therefore cannot be reached with flights not originating from the national territory.

The same policy was undertaken by the Philippines where, however, it is possible to arrive if in possession of a long-term residence permit.

On the other hand, Fiji Islands and French Polynesia are open to tourism, although a Covid-19 test with negative results is required for entry into these countries, performed within a maximum of 3 days before the departure date and complete with medical documentation.
