This is one of two articles we’ve written to introduce you to one of the most appreciated archipelagos in the Mediterranean Sea: the Balearic Islands. In this article, we will mostly talk about the island of Mallorca, seen from onboard a boat.
If you want to get more inspired, don’t miss out on our other article dedicated to the parties’ queen island: Ibiza, the best 2021 party destination for a boat trip
Mallorca is the biggest of the four main islands of the archipelago. Like the other Balearic Islands, it is also known as the “eternal spring’ island” due to its unique mild climate all year round. Organizing a journey here means getting the right mix between fun, culture, and chill time. The island coast is full of restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs for all kinds of entertainment you desire. In contrast, especially in the island’ inland, there are many real and cultural interest’ places.
Where is Mallorca located?
Mallorca and the Balearic Islands are Spanish islands located in the Mediterranean Sea, south-east from Spain and off the Spanish coast between Barcelona and Valencia. This archipelago’s generally quiet sea makes it the perfect place to sail to, even if you are entirely new in sailing and it’s your first time onboard a sailboat.
The central city of the island is Palma de Mallorca, a medium-sized town that can be chaotic at certain times of the year. Among the main cultural attractions is the imposing Gothic cathedral of Santa Maria, the royal residence of Almudaina of exact Arab origins, and the Bellver (belvedere) castle located on a hill just a few kilometers outside the city.
Palma is well known also and above all for its nightlife. It’s impressive that about a third of the island hotels are located right in this city. In short, if you are looking for late-night open clubs and disco parties, you don’t need to go too far!
Why rent a boat here? What’s the advantage?
Rent a boat to live a different kind of experience. During summer, especially during July and August, the island becomes very crowded with tourists. And beaches are overcrowded such as the main streets and boulevard. Be delighted by the local beauties and enjoying a relaxing holiday can be more complicated than expected unless you are on board a sailboat or catamaran!
You could fastly move from one place to another around the coast and cover several miles with no danger of getting stuck in traffic or being delayed by public transports. Reaching the most famous beaches or discovering hidden coves would be very stressless. Every night you’ll be free to decide which quay to dock to and then enjoy your time!

Beaches you won’t miss!
A little while ago, we were talking about beaches to discover. Well, the ones we think are worth visiting on board your charter boat are a lot. Some of the best we recommend are Cala Agulla and Cala Mondragò, both part of protected natural parks, Cala Mitjana, maybe one of the less known beaches but undeniable beauty, and finally, Es Trenc, known as the Mallorca’ the Caribbean and probably the most wanted by tourists.
Tip for your next journey!
For this kind of trip, we recommend a serious and reliable rental company. Our tip for you is Your Boat Holiday. The company offers its customers the best solutions in terms of boat tours and crew expertise. Check their websites and ask for any doubt or information needed!
