The 2022 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show has successfully ended!

The 31st edition of the Monaco Yacht Show took place last week, one of the largest and most significant international exhibitions dedicated to the world of superyachts, which has been held every year since 1991 in the prestigious context of the Principality of Monaco.

From 28 September to 1 October 2022, the entire global yachting sector has turned its gaze to the small but luxurious kingdom overlooking the French Côte d’Azur, which, as usual, has not disappointed expectations.

Along the prestigious Port Hercules, over 100 yachts and boats representing world excellence have made a fine show, including exclusive previews and top-notch innovations.

The exhibition brought together the elite of the sector and the leaders of the yachting industry who presented their innovations in all areas of yachting excellence to the world.

The location

The Monaco Yacht Show takes place annually in the heart of the Principality of Monaco between the end of September and the beginning of October. The city-state is easily accessible from the Nice Côte d’Azur airport, about 30 kilometers away, or with convenient train connections from major French cities.

Visitors who decide to visit it are welcomed in the beautiful setting of Port Hercules, famous for being part of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, and the area par excellence where the most majestic and exciting yachts are moored and can be admired throughout the year.

In this high-level context, the most crucial international yachting professionals are brought together, including shipyards, brokers, designers, accessory manufacturers, and service companies, all extremely excited to participate in this unmissable event of luxury yachting.

The exhibition

Founded in 1991, the show usually lasts four days and is divided into two main exhibition areas: the part relating to the vessels moored and the part relating to the exhibitors on the quay.

Also, in the last edition, over 120 superyachts and over 50 luxury tenders presented by the most renowned builders and brokers on the market were moored in port. The event showcased yachts from 50 to over 100 meters in length and an impressive number of new models, presented annually in a worldwide debut.

Out of the water, on the other hand, more than 450 selected companies have found space and an expression of excellence and innovation in yachtings, such as naval designers and architects, yacht charter brokers, and service providers.

The event was attended by some of the biggest names in the nautical sector, including Azimut, Sunseeker, Benetti, Gulf Craft, and many others.

As always, the Monaco yacht show was not limited only to boats and boating. It opened its doors and involved manufacturers of luxury goods such as high-end cars, motorbikes, helicopters, and private jet producers.

In addition to all this, the Monaco Yacht Show has also achieved the goal of offering its visitors the best possible experience thanks to the VIP Sapphire Experience.

VIP Sapphire Experience means a tailor-made service that organizes guests’ stay at the fair, offering an exclusive lounge, bar, catering facilities, and opportunities to socialize with buyers and brokers.

What differentiates MYS from other boat shows?

The Monaco Yacht Show and the Cannes Yachting Festival are two of the most exclusive events in the world of superyachts, making the French Riviera the center of international boating during September. Taking place in a short period, they are often compared. However, they differ substantially in terms of the size of the boats participating in them. While the Cannes event showcases yachts no larger than 45 meters and, therefore, probably more boats, the MYS instead focuses on a smaller number of superyachts but no smaller than 50 meters in length.

Fabulous superyachts at the 2022’s edition of the Monaco Yacht Show

As always, the Monaco Yacht Show brought an impressive fleet of superyachts.

Below, we turn the spotlight on the most salient news and the most unmissable superyachts that gave a show while were moored in the Monaco bay:

AHPO

The largest superyacht ever presented at the 2022 show, with its 377 feet in length, Ahpo reflects the desire of its builders, the German Lürssen, to build a Ferrari of the sea. It is safe to say that the Italian superyacht designers Nuvolari – Lenard seems to have captured the essence of the Italian supercar.

TRANQUILITY

Built-in 2014 by the Oceanco shipyard, this charter ship is one of the few yachts present at the show of this size and caliber capable of accommodating more than 12 guests, thanks to its 300 feet in length. She is equipped with 11 elegantly furnished cabins for up to 18 guests.

PHOENIX II

The stunning Phoenix II superyacht is nearly 300 feet long. Designed by Winch Design, she was built by the Germans Lurssen shipyard. She embraces New York’s unique Art Deco style and is significantly more extensive and bolder than her smaller predecessor model.

NERO

The 295-foot NERO superyacht boasts ample internal and external social spaces and is the ideal yacht to relax and have fun surrounded by luxury.

Built by Corsair Yachts, she accommodates 12 passengers divided into six elegantly designed cabins.

HERE COMES THE SUN

Launched in 2017 and recently wholly refitted, the Here Comes The Sun superyacht is even bigger and better than before. At 291 feet in length, she features significant layout changes, including a larger beach club and spa and the ability to land a helicopter on the sundeck.

KENSHÕ

After making her charter debut in 2022, the brand new 247-foot KENSHÕ superyacht built by Admiral Yachts has not gone unnoticed thanks to her innovative and elegant lines.

Stepping aboard, guests were struck by its infinity-edge beach club that leads to a vast 6-meter glass-fronted pool.
