sardinia 9 days yacht itinerary from portisco to portisco

Suppose Sardinia is one of the most popular Mediterranean destinations. In that case, Costa Smeralda is its heart and the icing on the cake of a unique and unforgettable natural landscape for anyone who visits it.

9 Days Yacht Itinerary from Portisco to Portisco

For years, Your Boat Holiday has organized various maritime itineraries in Costa Smeralda departing from Portisco. This we propose is just one of the countless possibilities:

  • Day 1: from Portisco to Golfo Aranci

Set sail from Portisco; the first stop is one of the most famous coastal resorts in the area.

Golfo Aranci is a well-kept town with a historic center full of trendy shops and a modern promenade with well-equipped and served beaches. It is worthwhile to spend your first day of travel here to better prepare ourselves for the tour that awaits us.

  • Day 2: from Golfo Aranci to Tavolara Island

Not far from Golfo Aranci is Tavolara, an island that emerges from the sea like a granite colossus dotted with greenery and Mediterranean scrub. An excellent destination for climbing lovers, Tavolara is a mountain 560 meters high and four kilometers long, characterized by impervious rocks and splendid chromatic shades like the green of juniper, rosemary, and mastic, in combination with the blue and emerald green of the waters around. Tavolara island symbolizes an unforgettable spectacle: the marine protected area of Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo.

  • Day 3: from Tavolara Island to Mortorio Island

The uninhabited island of Mortorio is part of the La Maddalena National Park and offers visitors a pristine landscape of Mediterranean flora and fauna. It is characterized by a steep area bordered by cliffs that reach even 80 meters in height, making it full of small coves with sheltered beaches and almost always calm waters. Here is also the small bay of Cala Mortorio, a small jewel worth visiting.

  • Day 4: from Mortorio Island to Grande Pevero Beach

Grande Pevero Beach is in the gulf of the same name. It is an arched expanse of white and soft sand, almost impalpable, about three hundred meters long, lapped by a sea with colors ranging from green to blue. Granite rocks and green vegetation enclose it, separating it from a nearby pond, the Patima Pond. Behind it, there are well-kept golf courses that make the location a very popular destination for passionate golfers.

  • Day 5: from Grande Pevero Beach to Porto Cervo

Porto Cervo is located in the north-eastern corner of Sardinia and is the realm of luxury holidays. It is an exclusive seaside village nestled among natural beauties where, during the summer, social events, parties, and sporting events follow one another, attracting the international jet set. It’s easy to find yourself shopping with VIPs and celebrities here.

The marina, built in the 1980s, is today one of the largest and best equipped in the Mediterranean. With about 700 berths, it is home to the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club, a prestigious club that organizes international sailing regattas.

  • Day 6: from Porto Cervo to Caprera Island

Caprera is the Maddalena archipelago’s second-largest island and a completely protected area. The eastern part is hardly practicable, shielded by pink granite rocks, steep, and covered with Mediterranean scrub. This characteristic meant that in 1982, the island became a nature reserve.

Among the unmissable bays, there is undoubtedly Cala Coticcio, the ‘Sardinian Tahiti’, which, for its beauty, is worth visiting. In the southeastern part, you cannot miss Cala Dei Due Mari, one of the island’s pride, where clear water bathes both sides of the inlet. Or the splendid beach of the Relitto, characterized by white and thin sand and the skeleton of an ancient ship on the shore.

  • Day 7: from Caprera Island to Pink Beach (Budelli Island)

Budelli Island’s Pink Beach, one of the most beautiful in the world, is worth navigating here. It owes its name to the color of the sand, which is rich in tiny coral fragments and shells that give it this spectacular color.

Since 1998, rules have been introduced for the integral safeguard of the beach, which has been closed to the landing, bathing, and anchoring of all types of boats. Therefore, it is necessary to disembark in a nearby bay and then reach it on foot.

You will find yourself in front of clear waters that break on the reddish shoreline, and behind it, the Mediterranean vegetation offers bright colors.

  • Day 8: from Budelli Island to Palau

Palau is a small village born in the late nineteenth century. In winter, it is inhabited by a few thousand residents, but during summer, thanks to its strategic position for visiting Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena archipelago, it can welcome thousands of tourists.

Clubs, lights, and events animate the summer nights of this village, especially in the port area. Near the town, an artist shaped a natural sculpture. It is the famous rock of the Bear, a symbol of Palau, with its head facing the sea.

  • Day 9: from Palau back to Portisco

We return to the Portisco Marina, where we end our fantastic itinerary!
